Boot-Time Defragmentation

Frage

Hello everybody! Some weeks ago I downloaded and installed a demo version of iolo technologies' System Mechanic 5 Pro because I was curious about its "Boot-Time Defragmentation" feature. I was surprised for my system seemed to reboot noticably faster after having System Mechanic defragmenting the system files before Windows (XP) starts. So far so good...except for this optimization service is being initialized at every boot-up since the first start although I selected it to be executed only once. I can't turn it off. Since my computer is tweaked-to-max I doubt that the application has much effect on the boot-time because all root system files are in 1 fragment and there is nothing to process at all. Nevertheless I want it to stop (if there's an option for it,why should it not?;) Not even the deinstallation of System Mechanicc stopped the status messages during boot-time. So my question is as follows...Is there anything like a pre-Windows-boot console managing such services? Anything between the BIOS and Windows able to handle things? I would be pleased if somebody had a hint on this one - thanks in advance!! Alex
